As part of the Iraqi National Anti-Drug Week and in line with university awareness programs, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences organized an awareness and guidance lecture on the dangers of drugs. The lecture targeted the college students with the aim of enhancing their awareness of the health and social risks associated with substance abuse.
The lecture was delivered by:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Anad Jirjis
- Lecturer Dr. Mahmoud Abdul-Ali Saleh
- Assistant Lecturer Abdul Aziz Mahmoud Younis
The presenters addressed scientific and educational topics including prevention methods, strategies to combat drug abuse, and discussions of its psychological and behavioral effects.
The event also included the distribution of informative brochures containing scientific guidance aimed at raising students’ awareness, encouraging them to adopt healthy behaviors, and avoiding risky practices.
These activities reflect the college’s commitment to protecting students from social hazards, fostering a safe university environment, and supporting national efforts to curb the spread of drugs among various segments of society.
