Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Rabee Hazim Salman, the Department of Sports, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop entitled Green Education & Sustainable Development on Monday, November 24, 2025.

The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Lama Abdul Latif Saloom, who discussed the importance of integrating sustainability principles within the university environment and the practical applications of green education in sports disciplines. She also highlighted the role of educational institutions in raising environmental awareness, fostering sustainable behaviors among students, and effectively utilizing available resources to create a healthy and responsible learning environment.

The workshop aimed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of sustainability concepts, encourage them to adopt environmentally friendly practices within the campus and sports facilities, and enhance their ability to apply these concepts in their future professional careers.

The session witnessed active engagement from attendees through questions and discussions, enriching the workshop’s content and reflecting the students’ and staff members’ interest in sustainable education topics.
