Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Rabee Hazim Salman, the college organized an awareness workshop entitled “Sports Awareness: A Weapon Against Drug Addiction” as part of the activities of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week, with the participation of a group of specialized faculty members.
The workshop was presented by:

The workshop addressed the close relationship between sports activity and the prevention of deviant behaviors, highlighting the positive role of physical activity in enhancing mental health and reducing risk factors that may lead youth to drug abuse. The presenters also emphasized the social and psychological aspects of the phenomenon, providing scientific models and studies supporting the role of sports in developing a balanced personality capable of coping with stress.
The session witnessed wide participation from students and faculty members, with effective discussions on the importance of integrating sports awareness into university programs and promoting initiatives aimed at protecting youth within the academic community.
