The President of the University, Professor Dr. Nishat Mubarak Sliwa, met with the academic staff of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences on Sunday, 14/12/2025, in the presence of the Vice Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Rabeea Hazim Salman, and members of the teaching staff.

The meeting focused on the entitlements of students who have achieved outstanding athletic accomplishments at the level of Iraqi universities, as well as on mechanisms for supporting and sponsoring them academically and morally. Emphasis was placed on providing a motivating university environment that contributes to the development of students’ athletic and academic abilities, achieving a balance between academic excellence and athletic distinction, and aligning with the university’s orientation toward supporting talented students and strengthening its presence in inter-university forums.

The President of the University emphasized the importance of integrated efforts between the university administration and the academic staff in nurturing outstanding students, particularly those with notable athletic achievements, through the adoption of clear support mechanisms and the provision of necessary academic facilitation to ensure the continuity of both academic and athletic excellence. He also stressed the role of faculty members in guiding and motivating students in a manner that contributes to building a well-balanced university personality capable of representing the university in a distinguished and honorable manner.

For his part, the Vice Dean of the College commended the university administration’s attention to student affairs and its continuous support for athletically distinguished students. He affirmed the college’s commitment to implementing the directives of the university presidency and adopting programs that contribute to nurturing students and developing their academic and athletic capacities, thereby positively reflecting on students’ performance and the university’s standing in university championships and activities.
