Unit tasks:

The Academic Promotion Unit at the college is a department or division responsible for organizing and managing the academic promotion process for faculty members at the college. Its main responsibilities include:

1. Organizing and managing promotion requests:

     

      • Receiving promotion requests from faculty members.

      • Ensure that applications meet the specified terms and criteria.

      • Directing applications to the relevant committees for examination and evaluation.

    2. Ensure that the conditions and standards are met:

       

        • Reviewing faculty member qualifications (academic degrees, teaching experience, published research, conference participation, dissertation supervision, etc.).

        • Ensure that applications comply with the college and university’s internal regulations and rules.

      3. Coordination with the relevant committees:

         

          • Coordinating the application evaluation process with specialized scientific committees.

          • Ensure that evaluation criteria are applied fairly and transparently.

        4. Follow-up of administrative procedures:

           

            • Follow up on administrative procedures related to promotion requests until the final decision is issued.

            • Communicate with the relevant authorities within the college or university to complete the promotion process.

          5. Providing support and advice:

             

              • Providing advice and guidance to faculty members on promotion requirements.

              • Explain the procedures and steps required to achieve promotion.

            6. Record keeping and documentation:

               

                • Maintain records of promotion applications and their results in an organized manner.

                • Documenting promotion decisions and notifying the relevant authorities.

              7. Modernization and development:

                 

                  • Review and update promotion criteria periodically to ensure they keep pace with academic developments.

                  • Suggest improvements to promotion procedures to ensure efficiency and fairness.

                8. Communication with external parties:

                   

                    • Coordination with external parties such as the Ministry of Higher Education or other academic bodies when necessary.

                  9. Reporting:

                     

                      • Preparing periodic reports on unit activities and promotion results.

                      • Submit reports to senior management on the unit’s work progress.

                    10. Ensuring transparency and integrity :

                       

                        • Ensure that all promotion procedures are conducted in a transparent and fair manner.

                        • Handling any complaints or objections related to promotion decisions.
